Learn the wonderful art of making your own stained glass Christmas decorations. Ideal for you to hang on the tree or as a gift for a friend or loved one.
This one day (3 1/2 hour) workshop based in our studio in Birdwood is suitable for complete
beginners and is run with a maximum of four students, ensuring that each student
receives individual attention.
This is an opportunity to make a selection of Tiffany stained glass Christmas
decorations such as Christmas trees, baubles and stars (see photos). You will learn all the basic Tiffany copper foil techniques such as:
• Scoring and breaking glass to fit a pattern.
• Selecting suitable glass.
• Grinding glass.
• How to apply copper foil tape to glass.
• Soldering (tacking / tinning and beading).
• Attaching support rings.
• Applying patinas / finishing.
What’s included in the price?
For the price of $120, you get the use of all tools and equipment and materials to create your masterpieces. In this time you will make up to 3 decorations to keep, depending on complexity of design. Students will need to bring a pair of safety glasses and wear closed in shoes.
