Our Copper Foiling for Beginners class is the ideal place to start if you want to learn copper foil techniques used in glass art. Learn the wonderful art of making your own stained glass sun catchers.
This 3 hour workshop based in our studio in Birdwood, is suitable for complete beginners and is run with a maximum of four students, ensuring that each student receives individual attention.
You will learn all the basic Tiffany copper foil techniques such as:
- Scoring and breaking glass to fit a pattern.
- •Selecting suitable glass.
- Grinding glass.
- How to apply copper foil tape to glass.
- Soldering (tacking / tinning and beading).
- Attaching support rings.
- Applying patinas / finishing.
What’s included in the price?
For the price of $150, you get the use of all tools and equipment and materials to create your masterpieces. In this time you will make up to 2 suncatchers to keep, depending on complexity of design. Students will need to bring a pair of safety glasses and wear closed in shoes.
