Have you ever wanted to learn the art of leadlight but don’t have the tools? Well why not sign up for one of our Leadlight for Beginners Classes. These classes will be run in our purpose built glass studio at Birdwood.
No previous experience is necessary because this class is designed for the novice. At the end of the course you will have created a leadlight panel that you can keep.
During this class you will learn the following :
- health and safety aspects of working with glass and lead;
- planning your work;
- types, selection and cutting glass;
- types of lead and which one to use;
- leading and soldering techniques; and
- cementing and finishing your panel
The leadlight classes will be run over 4 weeks in 3 hour sessions and includes the use of tools as well as the glass, lead, solder and putty to complete the project. A minimum class of two persons and a maximum of four will apply. Days and times available will be advised depending on demand
